The School Sisters of Notre Dame is an international congregation founded in 1833 in Bavaria. We are Apostolic women religious serving in over 30 countries and serve the world through education focusing on transforming the world by helping individuals to reach the fulness of their potential. We engage in diverse Ministries such as teaching in schools, colleges and Universities and in social justice, health care and administration.

The School Sisters of Notre Dame officially arrived in Kenya in 1974 and established the first mission, St. Francis Spiritual center in Nyabururu, Kisii.
The first SSNDs to come to Kenya were from Mankato Province, Minnesota USA and arrived in August 1974...
